Campus to hold events for Sexual Assault Awareness month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and Penn State 阿尔图纳 is hosting several events surrounding it.

On March 27, the Health and Wellness Center will hold its annual Sex on Campus from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Adler Athletic Complex. 这个事件, open to Penn State 阿尔图纳 students only, will allow them to gather information and participate in interactive education on abstinence, sexually transmitted infections, 性侵犯, sexual decision-making and contraceptive methods. Adagio Health also will present the Safe Sex Olympics.

4月3日, the International MaleSurvivor Organization will present the critically acclaimed film "Boys & Men Healing" at 7 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center. The documentary focuses on the impact of male child sexual abuse on the individual and society. A panel discussion will be held afterward with the co-producer of the film, 一个心理学家, a clinical social worker, the vice president of International MaleSurvivor, and a male survivor featured in the documentary. Mental health workers and psychologists, 社会工作者, and school and community counselors are also encouraged to attend.

The Clothesline Project will be displayed in the Slep Student Center all day on April 4. Students are invited to share stories of survival related to the sexual abuse/assault on T-shirts. Those shirts will be hung in the center for the community to view. 从4点到8点.m. 那天晚上, in a partnership with Family Services Incorporated, a Take Back the Night rally will be held in the Laurel Pavilion and in the Slep Center. Help break the silence of sexual and domestic abuse by joining in the rally. The event includes a candle light vigil and keynote speaker.
